Colleagues at BNP Paribas Personal Finance, the Solihull based provider of consumer finance, has teamed together to support Birmingham Pride. The Stonewall Top 100 company encourages colleagues to get involved in its six colleague diversity networks all created to support diversity and inclusion in the work place.
With 760 people across two UK sites, the company is committed to promoting and maintaining a diverse, inclusive and stimulating work environment where value is given to differences in thoughts, backgrounds and perspectives.
The Pride network is one of six employee networks created to enable people to develop and succeed and to ensure people are treated with dignity and respect. The company recognises and supports the diversity of all colleagues and wants to raise awareness on issues that can be faced by lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans (LGBT) people in the workplace and beyond.
The networks enable people to come together to discuss and share information and give practical advice. The power of the networks is down to the people and what they can achieve through collaborating with each other and networks linking up across BNP Paribas Group companies in the UK.
Stephen Hunt, CEO, BNP Paribas Personal Finance said: "We employ talented people from a wide variety of backgrounds and I believe our continued success is down to the varied ideas, backgrounds and experience of our people working together as a united team. It is the responsibility of each and every one of us to ensure our workplace is free of discrimination and bias. Differences should be embraced and I'd encourage businesses to leverage their rich diversity to be a driver for positive change."
