Colleagues at BNP Paribas Personal Finance, the Solihull headquartered provider of consumer finance, brought in their children to experience a working environment first hand through the company’s Bring Your Child to Work Day event.
As part of its commitment to diversity and inclusion and being a great place to work, BNP Paribas Personal Finance hosts the annual event to enable young people to understand the breadth of skills required within a business and how different departments work together to achieve common goals. The children, from a variety of backgrounds. are welcomed into a friendly office environment to learn more about where their parents work and to get involved in team building activities.
The theme of the day was motor finance given the company's plans to launch a new market offer later this year. The children had plenty of fun getting involved in lots of activities including creating eco-friendly cars of the future and working in teams to develop a brand, logo and posters. Members of the BNP Paribas Personal Finance motor team came along with parents to see the children present their launch plans at the end of the day and were amazed at the high standard of creativity and innovation.
Jayne Licari, Brand, PR and External Communications Manager added: “We want to bridge the gap between education and the workplace and holding a Bring Your Child to Work Day even at this young age has significant benefits by helping children learn new skills in a different environment. The day was a great success and all parents were incredibly proud of the final presentations by the children who were confident, enthusiastic and took away a a greater insight of the working world.”.
