Our annual Be The Difference Awards shines a spotlight on the successes and achievements of talented individuals and teams across the business, and in these challenging and uncertain times, celebrating the hard work of our dedicated colleagues is more important than ever.
With our tenth ever ceremony unable to happen in person this year, our 2020 awards ceremony took place virtually, with Director of HR Lynda Brennan and Director of Operational Transformation Jason Wright playing hosts for the evening.
Jason says: “Over the past six months, all of our team members have worked tirelessly to support our partners, customers, colleagues and communities, helping them navigate this difficult period. But there were some stand out winners who went above and beyond the call of duty to make a difference this year.”
One of these winners was our COO, Claire Moore, who took home the Inspirational Woman of the Year award. Claire was recognised not only for her for knowledge and expertise, but how she shares this with other colleagues across the business so that they can also embrace, develop and grow.
In addition, our Partners in Growth award went to Adam Sanderson, head of business development, this year, who was recognised for bringing some great new business on board.
As a business we’re passionate about giving back to our local and global communities, and our much-deserving winner of this year’s What’s My Impact award was head of customer service, Simon Jones. Simon raised an incredible £5,000 for Dementia Revolution by running the London Marathon in 2019, and has also offered his support to organisations providing opportunities for young people such as Dallaglio RugbyWorks and Digital Innov8ors.
There was also a double win for one household attending the virtual ceremony, and the joint winners of our CEO Colleague of the Year Award were Jade Newman, a team manager in operations, and Alan Timmins, operational risk control manager - who are also partners!
Lynda says: “We are so grateful to all of our colleagues for their hard work and dedication, particularly during this challenging period, and we were delighted to be able to recognise some of these everyday heroes at this year’s Be The Difference Awards Ceremony – even if it was through a computer screen. It was brilliant to see the reactions of all our worthy winners!”
